Many, many first in the past 4 months!

Sadie is officially a Toddler! She walks (finally at 16 months), dances, follows directions, ignores directions, laughs, cries and more. She decided no more bottles, no more changing table (because she climbs!), rarely sits in the high chair and even tries to dress herself. It is all happening so quickly! She's even interested in the potty. Aaron says that he can't take it anymore. :-)

Our biggest challenge is just upon us. Sadie is starting to try to climb out of the crib. I can't even begin to imagine the fun of training her to stay in her toddler bed! We love her more than words. ALMOST makes me want another one. :-)

Sadie is ONE!

Sadie had a fantastic first birthday! The chick party theme was a hit. The best part was the LIVE chicks. Though still not walking, she gets in to EVERYTHING! The child climbs inside, on top of, around anything in her way. She says, "mamma, dadda, bye, hi, book," and a few more. Of course I think she is soooo smart. The coolest thing she does lately is pretends to read. She holds a book in her rocking chair and babbles fast and loud JUST like she's reading, turning the pages and all! Our second favorite thing is watching her dance. She loves music. Thank goodness Zoe is learning to play the guitar!

We've had a lot of family time over the past month. Her cousins from NC came down. She also has 3 new triplet cousins that were born 4/1. We celebrated Pop Pop's birthday at the Ronald McDonald House so that Mark, Marissa, and Micah could celebrate with us.

Sadie sleeps like a charm! She takes an hour nap in the AM, 2 hours in the PM, and goes down at 7 for a 13 hour night. It has been wonderful because we are actually able to clean, cook, and study. :-)

Since it is already so hot outside, we have been in the pool. Sadie LOVES the beach ball and laughs hysterically while playing with it. She will take swimming lessons this summer to help with going under the water. We plan on being outside a lot!

Our biggest challenge right now is really making sure the house is safe for both girls. In fact, we (Aaron) are busy this weekend installing alarms, flood lights, and extra locks. Sadie reaching for the door handle and knows that's how to get outside. Hopefully we will be extra protected soon.

She is still the highlight of our day. I can't believe how fast it is going. I'm loving every minute.

Wintertime Sadie

I can't believe that it has been 2 months since I last posted on Sadie! I'm sorry. :-(

Sadie crawls like crazy, eats everything, stands, slides, dances, blows kisses, clucks like a chicken, raises her hands when you ask her "how big is sadie?", says mamma, dadda, meow, bye (like a redneck), waves, pat-a-cakes, sorts toys, hugs, kisses, blows, blinks, takes her pants off during nap time and much much more.

By far the biggest accomplishment has been her ability to respond to what we say and do. I can't believe how much she knows, listens, and is capable of. She is so close to one and that kills me. I can't believe how fast this year has gone. My next post will include 1st birthday pics.

Today Sadie played Aaron and I so well. She reached for him and then gave him a hug and then reached for me and gave me a hug. We love her so much and are enjoying every minute of this journey. Sadie's biggest love though is Zoe. Zoe trumps ANY one holding her. I think Zoe really does think it is pretty cool. :-)

The pictures above show a few highlights from the past few months. We were lucky to have Amanda come over with her camera and play to capture the first two shots.

Happy Holidays!

Well 2010 is here and I'm finally adding to Sadie's blog! Yay! :-) Sadie has changed so much over the past month. She crawls, has 4 teeth, loves to play peek-a-boo, and is shaking her head 'no' when she doesn't want to eat! She is also starting to pull up, which is scary because she falls most of the time and cries. I can't stand to hear her cry.

We all had a terrific Christmas. We spent time with both sides of the family eating, playing and enjoying the company. Sadie got croup last week, which has been pretty miserable for everyone- but especially Sadie. I hate the "just wait and see" approach to healing! She is already feeling better though just in time for Zoe to come down the same thing!

One of my New Year's resolutions is to post once a month on this blog until she turns 1. Then, I'll create more of a family post. Have a great 2010!

Sisters

Look at our girls!! These are genuine smiles, not glued on for the sake of a photo. Sadie just adores Zoe and although she doesn't say it, Zoe shows that she feels the same way. I makes me so happy!
Sadie sings, smiles, and has two bottom teeth! She is VERY close to crawling. I was hoping she would wait until after Christmas so that we don't have to fence in the tree, but...
I've been gone for the past 4 days. I could not get home quick enough today. I missed them both like crazy.

I HATE cold weather, but there is just something about this kid in a coat! We are looking forward to spending time camping with my family for Thanksgiving. There will be 4 under 12 months, so it should be entertaining.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Sadie the Butterfly!

Sadie was absolutely adorable last night! She did such a good job even though it was the hottest Halloween that I can remember. I can't believe she is almost 7 months. It feels like I just posted on this blog, yet it has been almost 2 months!
She measured in the 97th percentile for her length and Aaron is SOOO proud! She skipped all of her 6th month clothes and is onto her 9-12 month stuff. It is so sad. :-( She is still wishy washy on when she sleeps through the night. Some nights she makes it and some she does not.
She is eating ALL stage 1 and stage 2 foods. She does NOT like peas or meat still. We are working on it, though. We stopped nursing and are totally on formula. :-( It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. It just shows how fast its all going.
Sadie is almost sitting up on her own. She gut laughs with Aaron and is starting to reach to people. There are certain behaviors she repeats like playing with my hair EVERYTIME I hold her and ALWAYS reaching for her butterflies above her changing table. Sadie wakes us up EACH day to squealing which is so sweet.
I'm sure the next time I post, she'll be crawling- hopefully not walking!
